The Comanche Tribe
Location
The Comanche tribe was nomadic so they moved around a lot to various places. They mainly lived in the Central Plains region, near the border of what is now Texas and Oklahoma.
Food
They ate lots of things but their main source of food was the buffalo. They sometimes also ate elk, black bear, pronghorn, and deer. When meat was scarce, they ate mustangs and sometimes their own ponies. They also ate wild vegetables such as spinach, prairie turnips, potatoes and herbs. There were also some wild berries and fruits that they ate sparingly.
Customs / Traditions
The Comanche Tribe had many different customs. Here are some of them:
-Every year, they would hold a big ceremony known as a powwow. They would sing, dance, and enjoy a large feast. This was usually a celebration of life and existence.
-Many people would create fancy jewelry. Many children would start this at a very young age and perfect this art once they were older. This was one of the Comanche's favorite pastimes.
-Children would go to a school during the day and then work when they got home. When they had free time, they would go fishing, hunting, play games, and go horseback riding.
-Telling stories was a big part of their culture. They had many folktales and old stories that had been past on from many generations.

Struggles
After long periods of ruling the Central Plains, white settlers came to their land and made them sign treaties with them. The settlers did not follow through on their treaties and there were many wars between the two people. After lots of fighting and disagreements, the Comanche Tribe had finally come to an end.
Accomplishments
The Comanches were the rulers of the Central Plains. They were able to defeat all their enemies due to their advantage of horses. They were able to strike people easily and could travel farther to reach the farthest enemies. Having all this land allowed them to easily provide enough resources for all the families.
